New!
I’ve been slacking in the sewing department. But tonight, before I head over to the sister in laws’ to watch Americas Next Top Model, I whipped up a new Pocket Pal!
What do you think of Nelson? He’s a professional pen-pusher, a bit of a rowdy kid but he listens when he should (most of the time).
Check out my Etsy shop! He’ll be posted there soon!

I’ve been working on making ads lately, ads that I can use. Yeaaaaahh, so they’re not coming out well at all. So I decided to contact an Etsy seller about working something out for me. Hopefully we’ll be able to work on something so I can start advertising on other blogs and sites.
I’ve been in contact with Venus Mag, for both their print ads and online ads…and I’m thinking about advertising with them soon. I’ll also be trying to put ads on some of my favorite blogs. Yay! I’m glad to get going with this!
Peace out (:

This week’s going to be a busy one. I’ve stocked up on fabric, and have been saving my creative energy to dump it into the evenings of sewing. Keep checking the Etsy Shop for updates (: I’ll be posting pictures!

The weekend is upon us! Thannnnk goodness!! I have plans to watch America’s Next Top Model tonight with my sister in law, have a ticket giveaway for the Radio Station tomorrow and then go bowling with friends. Hopefully some clothes shopping on Sunday.
I’m going to share a secret. I’ve been throwing around the thought of putting this on my blog because I didn’t want to offend anyone…but now I’m just going to do it.
I really don’t like another Etsy seller. Ok, that’s a complete lie. I love them! Their product is so amazing, they’re so professional, their pictures are perfect. But that’s why I don’t like them. I’m not going to say their name because I just don’t feel good about that. I’m SO jealous of their success! Is that bad?? I feel bad for being so envious, for truly not liking them because they’re so wonderful and perfect…but it’s the honest truth.
And because I’m super stubborn and competitive, my goal is to be more successful than this seller. I’ll be better, I’ll make more sales. I’ll just be better.
I’m so mean. I don’t mean to be though, I’m really not like this normally!
Do you have a shop that you’re this envious of? Do you have a love / hate relationship with another Etsy seller??
Spill the beans!
ps: Check out my other blog for the Feature Friday entry! Some great Etsy sellers featured this week!

Well, while I have a quick moment here at work, I might as well ad another post here!
Yesterday I mentioned a few goals I have for this blog and while I’m on that page, I thought I’d list a couple more:
- One goal is to sign up with Project Wonderful and have ads placed on the blog. This way I can get more publicity, earn a bit of money and also give creative minds a chance to get advertising!
- Eventually (once this blog picks up - reader wise), I’d like to also place larger ad space here, not only for Project Wonderful but for People looking for a more customized look.
Do you find it scary to make goals? I do. I’ve been meaning to make goals for my other blog and I’ve only gotten as far as making view amount goals. Not that this is bad, I just need to make more.
Have you ever seen What Happens In Vegas? Ashton Kutcher says to Cameron Diaz “Did you just make a plan to make plans?” That’s like me. Except, I make a goal to make goals (:

Apparently the KJ life is busy since it’s been a long while since I’ve visited my own blog! If you’re a reader of the Kj Blog at wordpress.com you’ll know that I am constantly updating that blog. This blog is another matter (:
I bought this domain (MY VERY OWN!!) with the plans to someday transfer my blog to this site. It’s still definately a big goal for me, and I need to get my bum in gear in order to make it happen!
There’s a few things I’d like to see on this blog before that goal even starts to take place:
- I’d like to get accustomed with handling this blog. It’s harder than I thought it would be! I do enjoy a challenge, but I need to dedicate time to research all the options and in’s and out’s here!
- I’d like to make weekly (at least) entries here in order to build up the readership and get myself used to the site.
- I want to find a theme that I like and that suites me (: There’s so many options, but it’s hard to find on that fully suites the KJ Blog.
- I want to install different plug-ins in order to make the site better for the reader (: Such as a “contact me” page, a picture of myself on the side bar etc.
One of these days I’ll get this stuff straight! In the meantime, there might be some stuff that messes up, but I’m willing to go through that in order to make this blog as awesome as I know it will be (eventually!).

How cool is this shop?? Wall decals are the “new thing”! You can get funky sayings, have “decal pets” or build on the atmosphere of the room. Take this chandelier for instance, where else can you buy a chandelier for $30.00? And! It can be any color you want. Awesome hey?
Wall decal’ing is the perfect way to funk up any room in your house, or…your brick and mortar shop! (check out this cute little coffee cup!). And the decals don’t take up and floor space!

There’s a thing I have with lists. I write tons of them! I just love lists! Writing down my goals for the day, either in my personal life or at work, really helps me accomplish the things I was wanting to do. It feels great to cross things off and move onto the next project.
Todays list is for the Farmers Market (tomorrow!!). I have a ton of finishing up things to do this evening…sometimes I hate working a full time job as well as my crafting! As much as I really love my job, I wish I could just do crafting full time!
The two biggest things on my list to do is printing out business cards and sewing another Kj Bag. I finished two last night but I’d like another one done for tomorrow. I’ve decided not to worry too much about the Zippies, they just take a few minutes to do so they’re perfect for last minute stuff.
My hubby finally brought home a printer (he’s a computer tech, you’d think we’d have everything we needed in the computer department!) so I can print my cards off at home instead of going down to his office. This’ll save a bunch of time! I can’t wait until after this FM though, then I’ll to be able to afford the business cards I’ve purchased from Apples And Chalk Dust. Yay (*:
I’m still working on that “BIG PROJECT” and I’m hoping to reveal it SOON!! Keep checking back to stay updated!!

Have you ever wanted something to just finished off an outfit? The jewelry that Kristria has in her Etsy store is perfect for this! Her items are simple, but still so attractive they’ll be catching the eye of your friends. With beautiful and subtle details, Kristria’s jewlery covers a wide range of tastes and styles.
One of my favorite things about Kristria’s store is her photography. The lighting is perfect and I just LOVE the backgrounds she uses!
Treat yourself to a completely unique and affordable item or buy one for your girlfriend (hint hint, guys!).

I was busy again last night, could have worked for several more hours, but I turned it in at 9:30. I made several more bundles of cards AND (!) the most exciting news is the above card. It’s my own art work (: YAY! I sat down and sketched it out, traced it with the carbon ink pen from my Gocco set, made a Gocco screen for it and printed several sets of cards from it! It’s going to be so exciting seeing if people respond to this design, I sure had fun making it but it’s all about what the customers think.
I stamped the back of every card with my KatelyJane stamp from Sweet Paperie and wrapped the bundle of six cards in a inch strip of paper, closing it with Glue Dots and stamping the KJ Stamp on it again.
I was also busy cutting out MORE Kj Bags and sewing them. We’re in a “not spending any money” mode right now, and I need liner for a couple of my bags…so I guess they’ll just have to wait. I’ll focus on what I have and do my Gocco art, and I should be good for the Farmers Market.
